Contrasting with the styled, runway shows that are currently populating the SS12 collections, for A/W 2012 the New Zealand label, Twenty Seven Names, exhibited a range of unusual campaign photos. Shot by photographer, Guy Coombs and exhibited at a party during New Zealand fashion week, each image features a piece from the label’s collection shot against perfectly matched wallpaper.

With a colour palette of mustard, turquoise and navy the images can be likened to a seventies birthday party, particularly due to the abundance of plaid and kitsch, retro floral prints. The combination of Parisian inspired dresses, monochrome stripes and a print reminiscent of Christmas lights, ensures that the label has created the romantic woman’s ideal collection.

The look book catches the eye due to its perfect blend of art and fashion, creating the perfect optical illusion and encouraging the onlooker to study the clothes with more intensity. The mixture of the model’s perfectly, unkept hair and the beautiful, retro dresses ensures that feeling of looking into a nostalgic window; a perfect move on the label’s behalf to stand out against the crowd.
